Broader Than Broadway Elementary Performing Arts Program

Over eight weeks, elementary students will work with the Broader Than Broadway ‘s Teaching Team in an after-school performing arts experience centered around BTB’s core pillars: Connect, Communicate, and Commit.

In partnership with Mrs. Alicia Ward, students will meet on Mondays to explore live music, movement, storytelling, creativity,—building confidence and connection through the performing arts.

Throughout the eight weeks, students will:

  • Learn and perform one group song

  • Collaboratively create and write an original scene

  • Build confidence while practicing teamwork, communication, and creative expression

  • Receive their own Broader Than Broadway T-shirt

  • Connect with Martinez Middle School students as part of a larger performing arts community, easing 5th graders into 6th grade with more confidence.

The experience will culminate on May 1 at Wesley Chapel, when we will officially welcome the Bobcats to Martinez Middle School’s end-of-year performance! Our elementary students will share their group number and original scene before joining the Martinez Middle School students onstage for the final number—bringing both groups together in a celebration of community, connection, and the joy of creating together.

At Broader Than Broadway, the performance is only part of the journey. Our goal is to give every student a place to belong, own their voices and discover that the skills we practice onstage are skills we carry into life.
